CreateAThon: A 24-marathon to help our community
On September 19th, Basis will continue its tradition of 24-hour marathons for good causes to help small nonprofits in dire need of communication assistance. Depending on their application, winners may receive graphic design services of fliers, billboards, posters, awareness campaigns, environmental graphics, trade show booths, and other related items. In addition, consulting services, communication planning, strategy advice, online services such as e-blasts, donation forms, and other web items may be awarded as part of the in-kind donations to certain organizations.
To prepare, Basis announced that applications are available in over 50 online sources, and received over 60 applications as a result. We have also managed the judging process, recruited volunteers to add to our staff efforts, and planned the actual 24-hour event. The preparations are somewhat systematic after four previous successful CreateAThons, but one can never predict the heartfelt moments and memorable stories this event has in store each year.
