A brand evoking strength and connectedness boosts attendance well beyond expectations

The Bridge Conference harnesses the synergy between two Washignton DC area groups: AFP/DC and DMAW. Basis consulted with the 99 conference organizers and developed a brand that evoked a sense of stability and strength to addressing their needs: rapid response for attendance, a sense of connectedness, increased trade show sign-ups, awareness that this new conference exists, and faith in the new alliance.

The brand concept was solidified and documented with a style guide (which is typically done at the end, but with 99 people on the committee was needed at the beginning). Next, a series of advertisements, direct mail pieces, enrollment forms, and prospectives were developed to target potential attendees and sponsors. As one piece went out the door, Basis began work on the next item.

Enrollment grew and sponsor checks piled up as Basis began developing pieces for the conference site itself, including tickets, name badges, programs, handouts, and more than 120 individual onsite directional signs. The final result was an overall attendance of more than 1,100—a significant increase over both previous conferences combined.
